Welcome my new blog about crafts, crafting, craftspeople, artisans, artists and lovers of craft in Greater Cincinnati. I’ve been writing about art, architecture and books for the Cincinnati Enquirer for the past few years, and about children’s books, restaurants and food before that.
Now, I’m moving on to other things. I put in for a buy-out offer and was accepted. My last day at the paper is Friday Sept. 26. But I plan to keep writing long after that through this blog and, maybe, a few others. I’m still up in the air about what I’ll do with Eye Spy – the Cincinnati art blog I’ve been writing for a few years.
Meantime, I’m diving into crafts: a lifelong passion. Cincinnati has a thriving crafts community and my plan is to celebrate it. I’ll take you into studios, shops, museums and galleries. We’ll go behind the scenes and parachute into festivals, flea markets, exhibition openings and other events. While the Cincinnati area is my focus, I’ll also be traveling around the region.
